Dr. Long grew up in Austin, Texas then went to Rice University where he earned an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and on to Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons for his medical degree. He then continued his training with residency in Emergency Medicine at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn and during his final year was elected Chief Resident there. Shortly after graduating residency he attained board certification in Emergency Medicine and has practiced all over Texas mostly in busy ERs in San Antonio, all while maintaining a home in Austin, where he prefers to spend most of his time. One of the main joys of having his own practice is the added time he gets to spend with patients outside of the rushed setting of the ER.  When not working, Dr. Long enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs and going out to the lake when he can.
